President Trump has extended the time frame of his “Slow the Spread” strategy to April 30, 2020. My deep concern about this has eased some after listening to Senator Lankford outline the CARES Act which is a two trillion dollar plan to stabilize the economy during this critical time.
After much prayer, thought, and seeking the counsel of others, we’ve made a decision to continue to cooperate with the President’s plan at this time. We will face this with faith (Psalm 91), but we will not be foolish. Brothers and sisters, I have made numerous tough decisions in my life, but deciding to suspend our Sunday assemblies and other on-campus ministries ranks at the top of the list.
Know this that Fairview Baptist Church is still on mission for the Lord Jesus. It is just that for a season of time we are moving from the church house to your house. We are approaching this – not in an attitude of defeat – but with excitement as we feel there is great opportunity to advance the Lord’s Kingdom in this season.
We will not have services on the campus, April 1-30, 2020. Instead, we will have services online as schedules appear to the right.
Brothers and sisters do not be afraid, the Lord is with us (Deuteronomy 31:8).
Love ya,
Pastor Bill Ledbetter
Community Groups and Sunday School [Adults]: Beginning this Sunday, April 5, 2020, and subsequently each Sunday in April, we will endeavor to host our Community and Sunday School groups online via either Facebook or preferably ZOOM from 9:15 – 10:15 a.m. For some, this will be a relatively easy transition; for those of you who are not yet technologically savvy, now is a good time for you to take the leap. Ask someone in the church or in your family or a friend to help you get set up.
Sunday Morning Worship:
Each Sunday we will meet together online at
10:30 a.m. via Facebook,
www.fairviewdurant.com. or YouTube for a Bible message [and
hopefully we will be able to add music and worship as we go]
Wednesday Y.I.E.L.D. and AWANA:
We will be working to connect our youth in an online format and we will ask our AWANA Commander, Bro. Todd, to supply a word for the AWANA kinds and families on Wednesday.
